Call me crazy, but equally hiking flavor was upon us, I heard the beckoning of Mt. Fuji again. This fourth dimension though, I wanted to hike without the girls. I wanted to pass the 24-hour interval with Matt, enjoying his fellowship too the mount without mothering anyone.

We had initially planned to hike a dissimilar trail (there are 5 of them), but later on driving roughly the town for thirty minutes, with no luck finding parking, nosotros cutting our losses too headed dorsum to Yoshida Trail, the same i nosotros hiked in conclusion year, too the most popular.
I must say, the tertiary time's the charm, equally far equally weather condition goes. It was the 24-hour interval that I had e'er dreamt of. ( Also, the lake H2O is truly rattling warm, due to the volcanic activeness underneath. Perfect for swimming!)

Made it to the torii gate, at the 9th station. We both felt smashing the entire day, too were non affected yesteryear the height at all. It's e'er then fun to chat with other hikers, equally well.
You'll frequently run into people simply laying yesteryear the side of the trail asleep. But, these 2 were SO closed to the top. I can't imagine stopping inside 10 minutes of the top, to receive got a nap. But, at 3,776 meters, the height tin live on rattling hard for lots of people.

At the summit, at that spot is a pocket-sized town, too lots of hikers hanging out, eating too resting. There is likewise a smashing feel of unspoken camaraderie with hikers at the summit.
(I didn't receive got my hiking stick this year, because later on hiking twice in conclusion year, at that spot was no to a greater extent than room for stamps. But I did purchase a novel summit flag, stamped with the date, to add together to my stick.)

Such a breathtaking thought from the top. I FINALLY had a VIEW! I am rattling sorry that the girls missed out on this view, too also, seeing the crater. We shaved SO much fourth dimension off of our hike, without the girls. We made it upward inwards 5 hours too downward inwards 2, too spent well-nigh thirty minutes at the top, for a full fourth dimension of 7.5 hours, circular trip. (We had an eleven lx minutes circular trip with the girls.)
The hike downward was similar walking through the clouds, literally!
